Job Summary And Qualifications

Pharmacy technicians assist pharmacists in preparing and distributing drugs, maintaining the drug inventory, and records. They work under supervision of a pharmacist and perform duties allowed by applicable laws.

What you will do in this role:

• Accurately fill unit dose medication orders from labels generated by pharmacist
• Prepare sterile products accurately under USP Guidelines. Restock medication and IV dispensing areas.
• Make rounds to nursing units as per policy and as directed by pharmacist
• Identify and fill replacement medications on emergency crash carts/totes and floor stock accurately.
• Issue requisitioned drugs to other departments as per policy.
• Maintain adequate inventory levels based on PAR levels and formulary initiatives, working with DOP or designee.
• Participate in formulary initiatives and communicate with medical staff regarding non-formulary decisions.
• Complete nursing unit inspections per policy.
• Fill medication carts accurately
• Enter charges and credits into pharmacy system promptly
• Answer calls and direct to appropriate personnel.
• Refill Pyxis systems accurately
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications needed:

• Certificate
• Licensed Pharmacy Technician or Pharmacy Technician Permit
