Job summary

Safeway, a division of Albertsons Companies Inc., seeks a Pharmacy Technician to support prescription processing, data entry, and medication preparation under pharmacist supervision. You will assist patients, answer questions, and help maintain accurate records and compliant workflows in a fast-paced retail pharmacy.

You will work with a team to ensure HIPAA compliance, proper labeling, and timely service while upholding safety standards and customer care.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older, depending on location requirements.
• Current Board of Pharmacy registration or licensure required where applicable.
• Ability to operate computers, registers, and pharmacy systems.
• Successful completion of required pharmacy training programs and technician development requirements.
• Working knowledge of pharmacy procedures, prescription processing, and HIPAA guidelines.
• Proficiency in computer systems and basic math calculations.
• Ability to read, interpret, and follow written and verbal instructions.
• Availability to work varying shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist with processing prescriptions, data entry, and medication preparation under pharmacist supervision.
• Answer questions, process transactions, and direct clinical questions to the pharmacist.
• Maintain organization: manage records, restock supplies, and keep the workspace clean in compliance with regulations.
• Ensure accurate prescription input, labeling, calculations, and record management.
• Follow HIPAA requirements and federal/state pharmacy laws.
