Job summary

Safeway is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to support the pharmacy team under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist. You will assist with processing prescriptions, enter data, and prepare medications while ensuring regulatory compliance and patient safety.

You will engage with patients, answer questions, and direct more complex inquiries to the pharmacist. The role emphasizes accuracy, organization, and adherence to HIPAA guidelines in a fast-paced setting.

Qualifications

• Must be 16 years of age or older (or 18 years of age or older, depending on location requirements)
• Current Board of Pharmacy registration or licensure required where applicable
• Ability to operate computers, registers, and pharmacy systems
• Successful completion of required pharmacy training programs and technician development requirements
• Working knowledge of pharmacy procedures, prescription processing, and HIPAA guidelines

Responsibilities

• Process prescriptions and enter data under the supervision of a pharmacist
• Prepare medications and assist with order processing within regulatory limits
• Interact with customers, answer questions, and direct clinical questions to the pharmacist
• Maintain records, restock supplies, and keep the workspace clean in compliance with regulations
