Walgreens invests in an “earn while you learn” Pharmacy Technician Training Program recognized by ASHP & the Department of Labor. This apprenticeship guides you towards becoming a certified Pharmacy Technician through the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) and helps maintain high industry standards, providing a portable credential for career advancement.

Whether new or experienced, Walgreens will train you to serve and care for patients and customers. Our program offers foundational and advanced knowledge, skills, and on-the-job experiences to prepare you for certification.

Responsibilities include:

• Assisting the pharmacist under supervision in pharmacy practice, adhering to state and federal regulations.
• Using pharmacy systems to obtain patient and drug information, process prescriptions, and assist with pharmacy operations.
• Providing excellent customer service and resolving customer issues.

Customer Experience

• Greeting customers, offering assistance, and developing relationships to ensure a positive experience.

Operations

• Supporting pharmacy operations, including prescription filling, inventory management, and maintaining a clean, organized environment.

Training & Personal Development

• Obtaining and maintaining PTCB certification.
• Attending training and continuing education.
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.

Basic qualifications include fluency in English and willingness to work flexible hours. Preferred qualifications include prior retail experience, familiarity with Walgreens, good math and computer skills, and PTCB certification.
