Responsibilities

1. Assist the pharmacist, under direct supervision, in the practice of pharmacy, in accordance with state and federal regulations. Support other Pharmacy Department duties in line with Company policies and procedures.
2. Use pharmacy systems to obtain patient and drug information, process prescriptions, and, if PTCB certified, assist and coach other pharmacy technicians and cashiers in pharmacy system and register operations.
3. Model and deliver a distinctive and delightful customer experience.

Customer Experience

• Engage customers and patients by greeting them and offering assistance. Resolve issues and answer questions to ensure a positive experience.
• Share customer service best practices to deliver a distinctive experience, including interpersonal skills and Walgreens service traits.
• Develop strong relationships with valuable customers.

Operations

• Assist in pharmacy practice under pharmacist supervision, ensuring compliance with all regulations and policies.
• Perform duties such as entering patient and drug information, filling prescriptions, verifying medicines, and assisting in scheduling and workflow management.
• Report prescription errors immediately and adhere to policies regarding pharmacy errors and quality improvement.
• Handle cash register transactions, assist customers in locating products, and process third-party claims efficiently.
• Support inventory management, including ordering, unpacking, and storing pharmaceuticals, and manage related claims and documentation.
• Assist in administering clinical services, including sample collection and coordination with healthcare providers.
• Build and maintain relationships with the local medical community and support outreach efforts.
• Maintain the cleanliness and orderliness of the Pharmacy Department and stock supplies appropriately.
• Comply with all company policies, maintain respectful relationships, and complete assigned tasks.

Training & Personal Development

• Earn and maintain PTCB certification through the designated training program and/or state certification. Certification may be required for promotion.
• Attend training sessions, acquire continuing education credits, and stay updated on healthcare and pharmacy developments.

• Must be fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English (except in Puerto Rico).
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, is required.
