Responsibilities

1. Assist the pharmacist, under direct supervision, in the practice of pharmacy, in accordance with state and federal regulations. Support other Pharmacy Department duties following Company policies and procedures.
2. Use pharmacy systems to obtain patient and drug information and process prescriptions. If PTCB certified, assist and coach other pharmacy technicians in operating pharmacy systems and support cashiers with pharmacy transactions.
3. Model and deliver a distinctive and delightful customer experience.

Customer Experience

• Engage customers and patients by greeting them and offering assistance with products and services. Resolve issues and answer questions to ensure a positive experience.
• Share customer service best practices with team members to deliver a memorable customer experience, including interpersonal habits and Walgreens service traits.
• Develop strong relationships with valuable customers.

Operations

• Assist in pharmacy practice under pharmacist supervision, complying with all relevant policies and regulations. Enter patient and drug information accurately, fill prescriptions, verify medications, and check for interactions.
• Report prescription errors immediately and adhere to the company's error and quality improvement policies.
• Follow all policies regarding Good Faith Dispensing during prescription activities.
• Handle sales transactions, collect cash, and assist customers in locating products.
• Manage telephone inquiries and process third-party prescription claims efficiently.
• Support inventory management activities, including ordering, unpacking, and storing pharmaceuticals, and handle related claims for overages or shortages.
• Assist in administering clinical services, including sample collection and coordination with healthcare providers.
• Build and maintain relationships with local medical professionals through outreach and community engagement.
• Ensure the pharmacy environment is clean, stocked, and orderly.
• Follow all company policies, maintain respectful relationships, and complete assigned tasks.

Training & Personal Development

• Earn and maintain PTCB certification through the designated training program or state registration. Certification may be a condition for promotion.
• Attend training sessions, earn continuing education credits, and stay informed on healthcare and pharmacy developments.

• Must be fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English (except in Puerto Rico).
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
