Responsibilities

1. Assist the pharmacist, under direct supervision, in the practice of pharmacy in accordance with state and federal regulations. Support the Pharmacy Department duties following company policies and procedures.
2. Use pharmacy systems to obtain patient and drug information, process prescriptions, and, if PTCB certified, assist and coach other pharmacy technicians and cashiers in their operations.
3. Deliver a distinctive and delightful customer experience by engaging customers and patients, resolving issues, and answering questions.

Customer Experience

• Greet customers and patients, offer assistance, and develop strong relationships with valuable customers.
• Share customer service best practices to ensure a positive experience, including interpersonal habits and Walgreens service traits.

Operations

• Assist in pharmacy practices under supervision, including entering patient and drug information, filling prescriptions, verifying medicines, and checking for interactions.
• Report prescription errors immediately and adhere to policies regarding pharmacy errors and quality improvement.
• Handle sales transactions, assist customers in locating products, and process third-party claims efficiently.
• Support inventory management, maintain department cleanliness, and ensure stock levels are adequate.
• Assist in clinical services, including sample collection and coordination with healthcare providers.
• Develop relationships with the medical community through outreach and detailing.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked pharmacy environment.
• Follow all company policies, maintain respectful relationships, and complete assigned tasks.

Training & Personal Development

• Earn and maintain PTCB certification through the designated training program and/or state certification. Certification is a condition for promotion to senior technician.
• Attend training sessions, acquire continuing education credits, and stay updated on healthcare and pharmacy developments.

Additional requirements include fluency in English (except in Puerto Rico) and willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
