Walgreens offers an “earn while you learn” Pharmacy Technician Training Program recognized by ASHP & the Department of Labor. This apprenticeship helps you become a Pharmacy Technician Certified by the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) and maintain high industry standards, providing a portable credential to advance your career.

Whether you're new or experienced, Walgreens will train you to serve and care for our patients and customers. Our training program includes courses, activities, and resources to prepare you for certification and a successful career.

• Assist the pharmacist under supervision, following state and federal regulations, and perform other pharmacy duties per company policies.
• Use pharmacy systems to obtain patient and drug information, process prescriptions, and support pharmacy operations.
• Deliver excellent customer service, engaging with customers and resolving issues.

Customer Experience

• Greet customers, offer assistance, and develop strong relationships with valuable customers.

Operations

• Assist in pharmacy practice, ensuring compliance with policies and procedures.
• Perform duties like entering data, filling prescriptions, verifying medications, and supporting inventory management.
• Report prescription errors immediately and adhere to dispensing policies.
• Handle sales transactions, support clinical services, and maintain a clean, stocked pharmacy environment.

Training & Personal Development

• Maintain PTCB certification and attend training sessions to stay updated.
• Work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
• Preferably have six months of retail experience, prior Walgreens experience, good math and computer skills, and PTCB certification.
