Job summary

The Pharmacy Technician at Lewis Drug will act as a patient advocate by ensuring that patients follow their drug therapy plans as prescribed. This position supports the Chief Pharmacist and Pharmacist in preparing and distributing prescriptions within policy and regulatory guidelines.

The role requires attention to detail, teamwork, and the ability to use multiple pharmacy software systems; on-the-job training for national certification may be provided; state-specific requirements apply.

Responsibilities

• Provide prompt, friendly customer service to patients and store customers
• Learn Lewis Drug policies and procedures and perform them daily
• Establish and maintain good relationships with physicians and healthcare providers
• Answer patient questions and troubleshoot promptly
• Answer phone calls politely
• Assist in customer transactions at the register
• Obtain and maintain patient information for accurate prescriptions
• Maintain HIPAA confidentiality
• Process new and refill prescriptions within scope
• Prepare paperwork and assemble medications for delivery/mail
• Serve drive-thru patients efficiently (if applicable)
• Report medication errors to proper personnel
• Log into pharmacy software systems for daily technician tasks
• Perform daily maintenance of automated devices
• Stock supplies and maintain clean work areas
• Promote Lewis initiatives and represent Lewis positively
