Job summary

Avera Pharmacy Plaza 2-Sioux Falls is seeking a Registered Pharmacy Technician to join our day shift team. You will assist in drug preparation, labeling, and inventory management under the direct supervision of a registered pharmacist.

This role supports high-quality patient care in a busy pharmacy environment. Qualifications include CPhT certification, Board of Pharmacy registration, and 1-3 years of experience.

Qualifications

• Ability to work the hours specified and perform each essential job function.
• Strong communication and attention to detail to ensure safe medication handling.

Responsibilities

• Under pharmacist supervision, inputs and prepares labels and packages inpatient or outpatient medication orders to maintain an efficient, accurate system.
• Communicates with nursing staff, physicians, customers, co-workers, supervisors, and management and participates in interdepartmental work groups to promote care and safety.
• Demonstrates knowledge of medications, calculations, regulations, PPE, and patient safety to ensure high-quality care.
• Performs clerical functions such as billing and pharmacy inventory to promote efficient distribution.
• Maintains records for accreditation entities and compliance with applicable standards.
• Maintains competence in specialized roles within the Pharmacy Department (Tech-Check-Tech, Educator/Trainer, USP 797/800, inventory, etc.).
