Job summary

Corewell Health Lakeland in Watervliet, MI is seeking a part-time Pharmacy Technician to support pharmacists, prepare medications, and assist in sterile compounding and inventory control. The position involves delivering meds, triaging calls, and working with automation systems in a busy hospital setting.

You will join a team focused on safe, accurate medication handling and adherence to licensure and certification requirements, with benefits and flexible shifts.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• LIC-Pharmacist Intern - STATE_MI required upon hire.
• LIC-Pharmacy Technician license in Michigan required within 90 days.
• Pharmacy Technician Certification (CPHT) or ExCPT required.
• Full Pharmacy Technician license and national certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Under the direction of a Pharmacist, provides technical assistance, processing and preparing medications and supplies.
• Delivers medications and supplies to patient care areas.
• Triages phone calls and messages from multidisciplinary team members.
• Handles complex sterile formulations and inventory management.
• Maintains clean, organized work area and ensures compliance with licensure.

Scope of Work

• Under the direction of a Pharmacist, provides technical assistance, processing and preparing medications and supplies.
• Works with multiple medication automation systems.
• Delivers medications and supplies to patient care areas.
• Triages phone calls and messages from multidisciplinary team members.
• Able to work in complex pharmacy areas (satellites, sterile product compounding, controlled substance handling, inventory management).
• Prepares supplies / medication, including complex sterile formulations under the direction of a Pharmacist.
• May prepare hazardous or biologic products when properly trained and competencies are passed.
• Prepares and packages bulk medications into unit of use packaging.
• Handles controlled substances for pharmacy and patient care areas under direct supervision of a pharmacist per federal and state law.
• Delivers pharmacy prepared medications, controlled substances and supplies to various nursing stations/patient care areas.
• Maintains a clean and organized work area.
• Maintains all requirements for CPhT certifications.
• Completes all Corewell Health assigned competencies by assigned due dates.

Qualifications Required

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Preferred Associate's Degree Hospital experience
• Preferred LIC-Pharmacist Intern - STATE_MI State of Michigan Upon Hire required
• Or LIC-Pharmacy Technician Temp - STATE_MI State of Michigan Must obtain full licensure w/in 90 days of hire.
• Upon Hire required
• And LIC-Pharmacy Technician - STATE_MI State of Michigan 90 Days required
• CRT-Pharmacy Technician, Certified (CPHT) - PTCB Pharmacy Technician Certification Board
• Excludes - LIC- Pharmacist Intern 90 Days required
• Or CRT-Exam for the Certification of Pharmacy Technicians (ExCPT) - NHA National Healthcareer Association
• Excludes - LIC- Pharmacist Intern 90 Days required
• Ideal candidate will possess Full Pharmacy Technician License and National Certification, such as PTCB or ExCPTInpatient Pharmacy, IV experience, or Compounding experience would be a plus
