Qualifications

• High School or equivalent required.
• Current pharmacy technician certification and/or license for state of practice.
• Knowledge of state and federal regulations for pharmacy and drug distribution.
• Any lapse or failure may result in disciplinary action at hiring manager's discretion.

Responsibilities

• Assists the pharmacist in collecting patient information and maintaining records as required by regulation and policy.
• Prepares medication orders for dispensing, performs calculations, and compounds medications per practice site protocols.
• Maintains appropriate supervision and accuracy checks with pharmacists and seeks verification when needed.
• Fills and maintains medication supplies, including controlled substances inventories, ensuring security and cost effectiveness.
• Communicates with caregivers regarding responsibilities and participates in quality and patient safety initiatives.
