Job summary

Beacon Clinic is hiring a Pharmacy Technician - MID to join our sterile compounding team in Idaho. The role involves ordering oral medications, maintaining meticulous records, coordinating oral chemotherapy with patients, and ensuring timely prescription processing.

You will support inventory and compliance while collaborating with a multidisciplinary care team. Ideal candidates hold Idaho pharmacy tech licensure with oncology terminology experience and a patient-centered bedside manner.

Qualifications

  • Pharmacist license in Idaho or eligible
  • Active Idaho pharmacy tech license required upon hire
  • Certification as a pharmacy technician preferred within 6 months
  • Experience with oncology terminology and terminology familiarity preferred

Responsibilities

  • Place orders for oral medications and supplies.
  • Maintain logs, calendars, and dispense reports for oral meds.
  • Coordinate and authorize oral chemotherapy with patients.
  • Maintain accurate records of medications, supplies, and transactions.
  • Ensure prescriptions are processed promptly.
  • Assist with inventory management and forecasting needs.
  • Manage grants, prior authorizations, and insurance eligibility for oral meds.
  • Adhere to all health, safety, and regulatory policies.
  • Prepare chemotherapy and pre-medications when needed within the mixing room.
  • Promote collaborative care among the care delivery team.

Beacon has an excellent opportunity available within our clinic as a Pharmacy Technician - MID, with ability to contribute to the Sterile-Compounding team as well. MID Duties/Responsibilities
  • Place orders for oral medications and supplies.
  • Maintain organized records such as maintenance logs, calendars, reports,supplies for oral dispensary and daily dispense reports of oral medications.
  • Coordinate and authorize oral chemotherapy with patients.
  • Maintain accurate and organized records of medications, supplies and transactions.
  • Ensure prescriptions are processed in a timely manner.
  • Contribute to management of pharmacy inventory, anticipate medication, and supply needs.
  • Submit and manage grants, insurance assistance, and prior authorizations for oral medication dispensary.
  • Comply with all applicable procedures, rules and regulations and adhere to all health and safety policies and protocols.
  • Prepare chemotherapy and pre-medications when help is needed in the mixing room.
  • Promote a collaborative, interdisciplinary approach towards patients/families between all members of the care delivery team.
  • Follows pharmacy code of conduct.
Duties Supporting Sterile Compounding
  • Prepares IV chemotherapy and pre-medications.
  • Dispenses chemotherapy and other IV medications to our patients and supports our medically integrated dispensary.
  • Maintains accurate and organized records of medications, supplies and transactions.
  • Ensures physician orders are processed in a timely manner.
  • Helps manage inventory and anticipates medication and supply needs.
  • Assists with grants, prior authorizations, and insurance eligibility and verification.
  • Displays professionalism and has great customer service and communication skills.
  • Complies with all applicable procedures, rules and regulations and adheres to health and safety policies and protocols.
Required Skills/Abilities
  • Compassionate and caring bedside manner.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work extremely well in a group setting.
Education
  • Idaho State Board of Pharmacy License.
  • Medical oncology terminology and experience preferred.
  • Idaho pharmacy technician license, required upon hire.
  • Certified pharmacy technician, earned by 6 months of employment preferred.
