Job summary

Aurora Health Care is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to support licensed pharmacists in preparing and distributing medications, including hazardous drugs and controlled substances, and to assist with inventory, documentation, and patient servicing at multiple Wisconsin sites.

The role requires excellent communication, strong organizational skills, and adherence to USP standards. Certification within 18 months is required, with immunization duties possible under supervision where permitted.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Registration/licensure with state board of pharmacy per employment state.
• Certification through PTCB (CPhT) or NHA (ExCPT) within 18 months from start date.

Responsibilities

• Assists licensed pharmacist in technical duties related to preparation and distribution of medications.
• Accurately selects, prepares, and labels medications including hazardous drugs and controlled substances.
• Assists with medication distribution tasks and related documentation.
• Screens calls and routes them with proper etiquette.
• Maintains inventory control and outdate checking; supports procurement.
• Documents medication admission histories and insurance verification processes.
• Performs nonsterile compounding per USP standards; sterile IV admixture where applicable.
• Inspects storage areas for policy compliance and safety.
• May immunize patients under pharmacist supervision if certified; participates in training as needed.
• Operates a vehicle to deliver medications and supplies as required.
