Job summary

Aurora Health Care seeks a Pharmacy Technician to support licensed pharmacists in medication preparation and distribution. You will handle labeling, insulin preparation when needed, and assist with inventory and order processing, ensuring accuracy and compliance.

We require a High School Diploma or GED and a certification track (CPhT or ExCPT) to be completed within 18 months of start. This role emphasizes safety, accuracy, and teamwork within a hospital setting.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED as minimum education.
• Certification required within 18 months: CPhT or ExCPT.
• No prior work experience required for entry-level technician role.

Responsibilities

• Assists licensed pharmacist with preparation and distribution of medications.
• Selects, prepares, and labels medications for patients, including hazardous drugs and controlled substances.
• Screens calls and routes them appropriately; maintains telephone etiquette.
• Performs nonsterile compounding following USP standards when applicable.
• Performs sterile IV admixture using aseptic technique when required.
• Maintains storage areas and documents inventory control and outdates.
