Job summary

GEM Edwards Pharmacy, a division of GEMCORE Health, in Hudson, OH, is seeking a Pharmacy Technician who will handle prescription data entry, filling, inventory, and payer issues. The role offers an 8:15am–5:00pm schedule, Monday–Friday, with no weekends, nights, or holidays.

We value a state-certified technician or someone eligible within 6 months, plus at least 2 years of pharmacy experience and strong customer service skills. Ongoing training and growth opportunities are provided.

Qualifications

• State-certified Pharmacy Technician or eligible to become certified within 6 months.
• Minimum 2 years of pharmacy experience with 3rd party rejection resolution preferred.
• Strong telecommunication and customer service skills; proficient with computer systems.

Responsibilities

• Data entry of new and refill prescriptions.
• Filling of new and refill prescriptions.
• Maintain sufficient and accurate inventory.
• Resolve third party payer issues.
• Assist with calls to support patients, providers, and staff.
• Coordinate interdepartmental patient care and service.
• Participate in weekly, monthly, and quarterly performance improvement meetings.
• Assist Compliance to ensure SOP adherence.

Responsibilities for the Pharmacy Technician:

• Data entry of new and refill prescriptions
• Filling of new and refill prescriptions
• Maintain sufficient and accurate inventory
• Resolve third party issues with payers and providers
• Phone calls to assist with business associates, patients, and providers needs and/or relays information to administrative support staff to complete calls as needed
• Coordinate vast interdepartmental patient care and service
• Participate and contribute to weekly, monthly, and quarterly performance improvement meetings
• Assist Compliance Department to ensure pharmacy operations and personnel are following Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)

Key Requirements:

• State Certified Pharmacy Technician or imminent plans to become Certified within 6 months.
• 2 years pharmacy experience with 3rd party rejection resolution preferred.
• Ability to work in a rapidly growing and fast paced environment
• Must possess and demonstrate excellent telecommunication skills and superb customer service
• Proficient word processing abilities as well as computer/system navigation
• Prior PioneerRx experience will be extremely beneficial
• High School diploma or equivalent
