The Pharmacy Technician Lead at Lincare Pharmacy Services Inc. serves as a resource to Pharmacy Technicians, answering work-related questions and directing workflow while providing first-level leadership, training, and direction for staff technicians.

Responsibilities include customer service by answering the phone, providing correct pharmacy information or referring to a pharmacist if needed, and entering patient demographics and prescriptions accurately.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED is required.
  • Must be a Registered Pharmacy Technician with the State Board of Pharmacy.
  • Prior Pharmacy and/or Supervisor experience helpful.

Responsibilities

  • Answer work related questions and direct workflow for staff technicians.
  • Provide first level leadership, training and direction for staff technicians.
  • Answer customer service calls and provide correct pharmacy information or escalate.
  • Enter patient demographics and prescription information accurately.
  • Train and supervise Pharmacy Technician staff and monitor workflow.
  • Escalate issues to supervisor as appropriate.

Job description

The Pharmacy Technician Lead acts as a resource to the Pharmacy Technicians by answering work related questions and directing work flow, and by providing first level leadership, training, and direction for staff technicians.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Provides customer service by answering the phone
  • provides correct pharmacy information to customers, or refers call to a pharmacist or management if unable to do so
  • answers non-clinical questions (when will shipment arrive, etc.)
  • enters patient demographics into patient profile with special emphasis on the correct spelling of name and DOB
    • enters all other information as required by company
  • Enters prescription information accurately into computer system
    • correct drug, correct strength, correct frequency, correct quantity, correct doctor, correct refills, and any other pertinent information
  • Provides initial and ongoing training to Pharmacy Technician staff
  • Responds to employee work process questions, ensuring that technicians are following company policies and procedures
  • Assists Supervisor in assignment of workload and monitoring of efficiency and productivity of technicians
  • Uses appropriate judgment in upward communication regarding department or employee concerns, escalating issues to supervisor and/or manager as appropriate

Education and Experience:

  • A High School diploma or general education degree (GED) is required
