Job summary

Kennedy University Hospitals, Inc is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to support inpatient and outpatient pharmacy services. The role requires preparing medications, maintaining Pyxis supply, and assisting pharmacists with dispensing under supervision.

The position involves multiple shifts (including weekends and holidays), and adherence to NJ registration, PTCB certification, and hospital policies is required. Benefits are included for full-time staff.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• New Jersey registration within 180 days of hire.
• PTCB certification within 12 months of hire or proof of a formal training program.

Responsibilities

• Interacts with co-workers and staff following Jefferson values.
• Prepares drug orders for review and dispensing by a Pharmacist.
• Replenishes Pyxis machines and monitors refrigerator temperatures.
• Counts, compounds and repackages pharmaceuticals per procedures.
• Dispenses medications and maintains inventory and restocks as needed.
• Performs billing/crediting functions and documents waste.
• Receives physician orders and assists Pharmacists as needed.
• Maintains clean, organized work areas and restocks carts per protocol.
• Uses aseptic technique to prepare IVs and transports them appropriately.
• Maintains competencies related to IV lab, Pyxis, and automation systems.
