Job summary

Kennedy University Hospitals, Inc seeks a per diem Pharmacy Technician to support inpatient and outpatient services. You will prepare drug orders, replenish Pyxis, and assist the clinical team with medication availability and workflow.

The role reports to the Pharmacy Manager with staff pharmacist supervision, requiring high attention to accuracy and compliance, and offering per diem scheduling including every third weekend and two holidays a year.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Registered Pharmacy Technician (RPT) license/state registration required upon hire.

Responsibilities

• Interacts with co-workers, visitors, and staff per Jefferson values.
• Prepares drug orders from physicians for review and dispensing by a pharmacist.
• Replenishes Pyxis machines and monitors refrigerator temperatures with corrective action as needed.
• Counts, compounds and repackages pharmaceuticals per procedures.
• Dispenses and distributes medications; restocks pharmacy inventory and nursing units.
• Handles billing/crediting to ensure proper billing and documentation of waste.
• Retrieves physician orders and delivers to pharmacists as needed.
• Maintains cleanliness and organization of work areas and carts.
• Uses aseptic technique for IVs and transports them to nursing areas.
• Maintains competencies related to IV lab, Pyxis, and automation systems.
