Job summary

Kennedy University Hospitals, Inc. seeks a Pharmacy Technician to assist in preparing and filling medications for inpatient and outpatient services.

You will report to the Pharmacy Manager and support daily workflow by ensuring proper medications and tools are available for the clinical team and patients. Responsibilities include replenishing Pyxis, preparing IVs, dispensing medications, inventory restocking, and ensuring accurate billing and waste documentation.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• RPT - Registered Pharmacy Technician license in PA on hire.
• New Jersey registration within 180 days of hire.
• PTCB certification within 12 months or exemption applies for in-training/pharmacist students.

Responsibilities

• Interacts with co-workers, visitors, and other staff per Jefferson values.
• Prepares drug orders for review and dispensing by a registered pharmacist.
• Replenishes Pyxis machines; monitors refrigerator temps and documents actions.
• Counts, compounds and repackages pharmaceuticals per procedures.
• Dispenses medications; restocks pharmacy inventory and department carts.
• Performs billing/crediting to ensure proper medication billing and waste documentation.
• Picks up physician orders from team centers as required.
• Light housekeeping: organize bins, shelves, and restock areas.
• Replenishes specialty and code carts; documents restocking.
• Uses aseptic techniques to prepare IVs and transports to nursing floors.
• Maintains competencies related to IV lab, Pyxis, McKesson Automation, CAPS.
• Reviews inspections and maintains required department competencies.

Education

High School Diploma/GED

RPT - Registered Pharmacy Technician license (PA)

NJ Board registration within 180 days

PTCB Certification within 12 months or training exemption
