Job summary

UPMC West Shore is seeking a full-time Pharmacy Technician, Intermediate to join our pharmacy team. The role includes sterile and nonsterile medication preparation, packaging and labeling, and distribution in a fast-paced environment with rotating daylight and evening shifts.

Qualifications

• Proficient in sterile and nonsterile medication preparation.
• Experience with packaging and labeling of medications.
• Ability to fill and distribute medications in compliance with regulations.

Responsibilities

• Filling: assist in labeling, counting, and stocking medications; initial and date products as required.
• Prepare oral and injectable medications (including IV admixtures and TPN) for patients at the correct time.
• Use proper technique in medication preparation; aseptic technique for cytotoxic/hazardous drugs.
• Distribute medications via cassettes, carts, and delivery; adhere to policy and regulatory requirements.
• Retrieve discontinued medications and return them to the appropriate area; maintain service relationships during distribution.
