Job summary

Sentara Virginia Beach General Hospital is seeking a Full-time Inpatient Pharmacy Technician to join our team in Virginia Beach, VA. The role supports care delivery and dispensing under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist, with a $5,000 sign-on for qualified candidates.

The position requires Virginia Pharmacy Tech License and offers a comprehensive benefits package with competitive pay and shift differentials. Hours are 6:30am–11pm, with every other weekend and holiday rotation included.

Responsibilities

• Fills and delivers medications under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist/licensed independent practitioner
• Ensures adequate supplies are available for continuous patient care
• Triages and escalates questions or issues outside the pharmacy technician's scope of practice as needed
• Operates pharmacy equipment and uses system for processing patient information

Responsibilities

• Pharmacy Technicians perform care delivery and dispensing under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist or licensed independent practitioner.
• Fills and delivers medications under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist/licensed independent practitioner
• Ensures adequate supplies are available for continuous patient care
• Triages and escalates any questions or issues outside the pharmacy technician's scope of practice as needed
• Uses appropriate systems for processing patient information
• Ensures quality assurance is maintained according to departmental and legal requirements
• Operates pharmacy equipment appropriately

Compensation

We provide market-competitive compensation packages, inclusive of base pay, incentives, and benefits. The base pay range for full-time employment is $23.50 - $36.36 hourly. Additional compensation may be available for this role, such as shift differentials, on-call pay, overtime, shift premiums, extra-shift incentives, or bonus opportunities. Compensation within the range may vary based on qualifications, experience, location, market conditions, and business needs.
