Qualifications

• Pharmacy technician in training program with certification pathway.
• Active SD Pharmacy registration or eligibility required.

Responsibilities

• Participate in and complete Avera Pharmacy Technician Education Program to pursue PTCB certification.
• Under Pharmacist supervision, accurately inputs and/or prepares labels and medications for inpatient or outpatient orders.
• Demonstrates knowledge of medications, calculations, regulation, safety and patient care to ensure high-quality service.
• Effectively communicates with nursing staff, providers, patients and co-workers to coordinate care.
• Performs clerical functions such as billing and pharmacy inventory procedures.
