Job summary

Baptist Health is seeking a Pharmacy Technician III to support the Montgomery Cancer Center. You will assist the Pharmacist with preparation and compounding, manage inventory, and help resolve insurance claims during dispensing. Cross-training and staff training are part of the role.

Requires a High School diploma and at least 3 years of pharmacy technician experience, ALBOP registration, and CPhT certification. This is a full-time, on-site position in Montgomery, AL.

Highlights

Summary: The Pharmacy Technician shall be responsible to perform most of the technical functions involved in the medication use process. This individual shall assist the Pharmacist in the preparation and compounding of pharmaceutical products, assess inventory of pharmacy products, and resolve problems with insurance claims as they arise during the dispensing function, as applicable to location. Cross training in one key functional area [examples provided in Technician Career Ladder]. The Pharmacy Technician III shall train new staff, and cross train in two key functional areas. This position may have additional duties assigned that are within scope of the role.

Education / Experience

High School diploma or equivalent required. Minimum 3 years of pharmacy technician experience.

License / Certification

Valid ALBOP registration required, CPhT certification required

Working Conditions/Physical Requirements

Position requires sitting for 20% of the workday and mobility 80% of the workday. There is occasional stooping, bending, kneeling, and crouching. There is frequent reaching, use of hands and repetitive action. Requires occasional lifting or carrying up to 25 pounds, pushing/pulling up to 150 pounds. There is a continuous need for speaking with clear diction and hearing sensitivity in conversation either by phone or in person. Continuous visual acuity at close and distant range. Inside protected from weather conditions but not necessarily from temperature changes. Minimal noise levels. Much exposure to computer work. Occasional exposure to risk of electrical shock. Some exposure to infectious disease while performing job-related tasks. Some exposure to hazardous chemicals. Occasional exposure to radiation.
