Job summary

City of Hope is seeking a Pharmacy Technician II to join our team and support the delivery of safe, high-quality pharmaceutical care. Under a licensed pharmacist, you will prepare, package, and compound medications including oral, IV, and chemotherapy/biohazard products.

You will ensure USP 797/800 compliance, manage medication inventory, process prescriptions, and assist with prior authorizations while coordinating with specialty pharmacies for timely deliveries.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent or post high school vocational training.
• 3+ years performing related duties as a pharmacy technician.
• Certified Pharmacist Technician (CPhT) from Pharmacy Technician.
• Certification Board (PTCB) certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Ensure adherence to USP 797 & 800 standards at all times.
• Apply proper aseptic technique for pharmaceutical mixing.
• Order, receive, and maintain medication inventory.
• Coordinate with specialty pharmacies or manufacturers for timely infusion deliveries.
• Perform routine cleaning and maintain supplies for daily mixing operations.
• Enter and process prescription orders.
• Coordinate and submit prior authorizations.
• Determine patient prescription benefits and assist with financial aid when applicable.
• Route and release prescriptions to the appropriate pharmacy.
• Label and fill prescription drugs.
