Duke University Hospital in Durham, NC seeks a Pharmacy Technician I/II for the Duke Specialty Pharmacy on-site. This role supports prescription processing, medication preparation, and patient-care tasks under supervision.

The 40-hour work week runs Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 6:00 pm, with potential weekend coverage. Requires NC Board registration within 180 days and PTCB/ExCPT certification; prior experience preferred.

Competenze

• Must be registered with the North Carolina Board of Pharmacy within the first 180 days.
• North Carolina Board of Pharmacy registration is required.
• Pharmacy Technician certification is required (PTCB or ExCPT).
• 2+ years of Pharmacy Technician experience preferred.
• Pharmacy Tech II: Minimum of one year related experience.

Mansioni

• Follow workflow procedures including prescription processing, medication preparation and distribution to patients.
• Restock automatic dispensing cabinets and anesthesia workstations.
• Answer and screen telephone calls and direct to appropriate personnel.
• Handle medications per department, regulatory and legal requirements.
• Collaborate with pharmacy team, insurers, and customers to resolve issues.
• Assist with clinical functions in support of the clinical pharmacist.
• Operate specialty machinery and systems, troubleshoot when needed.
• Deliver medications and supplies to patient care areas.
• Complete safety and quality activities per procedures.
