Overview
Assists the clinical pharmacists in providing an accurate and timely medication distribution system.
Qualifications
- Education: High school diploma or GED required.
- Registration: Must be registered with the Alabama State Board of Pharmacy as a Pharmacy Technician within 30 days of hire, and registration must be in good standing (“active”).
- Certification: Employees must have national certification with PTCB or ExCPT upon hire. Failure to obtain certification by the deadline will result in termination, unless the employee is enrolled in a pharmacy school and can provide proof, allowing them to remain in the role until they receive an intern license. The intern license must be provided by the end of the first academic semester, or employment will be terminated. For initial certification, a passing result from PTCB is considered active for 30 days. For renewal, active status must be attained within 30 days of expiration.
Additional Skills/Abilities
Must have excellent communication skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment with frequent prioritization and task changes. Proficiency in basic math is required.
