An established healthcare provider is seeking a dedicated Pharmacy Technician to support clinical pharmacists in delivering timely medication distribution. This role requires strong communication skills and basic math proficiency, along with registration with the Alabama State Board of Pharmacy and national certification. Assists the clinical pharmacists in providing an accurate and timely medication distribution system.
Education: High school diploma or GED required.
Registration: Must be registered with the Alabama State Board of Pharmacy as a Pharmacy Technician within 30 days of hire, and registration must be in good standing (“active”).
Certification: Employees must have national certification with PTCB or ExCPT upon hire. Failure to obtain certification by the deadline will result in termination, unless the employee is accepted into a pharmacy school and enrolled in the next academic year, in which case they may remain in the role until obtaining an intern license. Proof from the school is required. For initial certification, a passing PTCB exam result is considered active status for 30 days. For renewal, active status must be attained within 30 days of expiration.
Additional Skills/Abilities:
Must have excellent communication skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment with frequent prioritization and task changes. Proficiency in basic math is required.
