Assists the clinical pharmacists in providing an accurate and timely medication distribution system.
Education: High school diploma or GED required.
Registration: Must be registered with the Alabama State Board of Pharmacy as a Pharmacy Technician within 30 days of hire, and registration must be active and in good standing.
Certification: Employees must have national certification with PTCB or ExCPT upon hire. Failure to obtain certification by the deadline may result in termination, unless the employee is enrolled in a pharmacy school program with proof, and plans to obtain an intern license. In such cases, the employee may remain in the role until obtaining the intern license, provided proof is submitted within the specified timeframe.
In case of initial certification, a passing paper result from the PTCB exam is considered active for 30 days. For renewal, active status must be attained within 30 days of expiration, allowing a grace period.
Additional Skills/Abilities:
Excellent communication skills are required, along with the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment, prioritize tasks, and adapt quickly. Proficiency in basic math applications is also required.
