An established industry player in healthcare is seeking a dedicated Pharmacy Technician to assist clinical pharmacists in providing an accurate and timely medication distribution system. Assists the clinical pharmacists in providing an accurate and timely medication distribution system.
Education: High school diploma or GED required.
Registration: Must be registered with the Alabama State Board of Pharmacy as a Pharmacy Technician within 30 days of hire, and registration must be in good standing (“active”).
Certification: Employees must have national certification with PTCB (Pharmacy Technician Certification Board) or ExCPT (Exam for the Certification of Pharmacy Technicians) upon hire. Failure to obtain certification by the deadline may result in termination, with exceptions for those accepted into pharmacy school and enrolled in the next academic year. Proof from the school is required. If hired as a pharmacy intern, the employee may remain in the job until receiving an intern license, which must be provided by the end of the first semester or employment will be terminated. For initial certification, a passing paper result from PTCB is considered active for 30 days. Renewals require active status within 30 days of expiration.
Additional Skills/Abilities:
Excellent communication skills, ability to work in a fast-paced environment with frequent task changes, proficiency in basic math applications and analyses.
