A leading healthcare provider in North Carolina is seeking a Pharmacy Technician II to assist pharmacists in delivering safe and efficient pharmacotherapy services. The role involves sterile compounding, inventory control, and training new staff. Candidates should have a high school diploma and relevant pharmacy certification.
The Pharmacy Technician II performs specialized functions to assist pharmacists in providing safe, efficient, friendly, and cost-effective pharmacotherapy services. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, sterile compounding, controlled substance oversight, pediatrics, medication history, patient assistance, inventory control, medstation maintenance, unit inspection, packaging, and bedside discharge service. The technician utilizes appropriate equipment, supplies, and computer systems for medication procurement, preparation, verification, and delivery. They perform quality control procedures, maintain the pharmacy, equipment, and supplies, and lead at least one pharmacy-related project outside of normal duties, such as workflow redesign, performance improvement, safety, quality control, regulatory compliance, administrative tasks, staff development, or technology implementation. Additionally, they train new employees and students, serving as a resource for less experienced staff. Other duties as assigned.

Registered with NC Board of Pharmacy required within 10 days of hire. Certified Pharmacy Technician required or equivalent education.
High School Diploma or equivalent required. College courses in Pharmacy preferred.
At least 3 years of hospital pharmacy technician experience (inpatient or outpatient) required, or enrollment in an accredited pharmacy school with clinical pharmacy technician experience in a specialty area. Alternatively, experience in hospital pharmacy (inpatient/outpatient) with a specialty area is required.
