Job summary

Mercy Hospital Jefferson is hiring Pharmacy Technician I/II/III to assist pharmacists in preparing, compounding, and dispensing medications under supervision. The role reinforces compliance with federal, state, and local laws and ensures patient safety and accurate medication distribution within the hospital pharmacy.

Technician levels I–III require varying education and licensure steps, with at least a high school diploma and Missouri Pharmacy Board registration.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or equivalence exam.
• Licensure: Actively registered, in good standing, with the Missouri Board of Pharmacy as a Pharmacy Technician or willing to submit application for registration by first day of work.
• Experience: 1-year relevant pharmacy experience preferred but not required.
• Other: Successfully complete pharmacy department orientation.

Responsibilities

• Assist pharmacists in preparing, compounding, and dispensing medications.
• Follow applicable standards and federal, state & local laws and regulations for the care and safety of customers and patients.
• Collaborate with supervising pharmacist to ensure safe medication handling.
