Job summary

Mercy Hospital South is seeking a Pharmacy Technician III to join a dedicated team. The technician assists pharmacists in preparing, compounding, and dispensing medications under the supervision of the licensed pharmacist, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations for patient safety.

The role requires completing orientation and registry with the Missouri Board of Pharmacy and offers opportunities for growth within Mercy’s pharmacy staff.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or equivalence exam.
• Licensure: Actively registered, in good standing, with the Missouri Board of Pharmacy as a Pharmacy Technician or willing to submit application for registration by first day of work. This includes submitting fingerprints for FBI background check.
• Experience: Tech I — 1 year preferred but not required; Tech II — 1 year required; Tech III — 3 years required.

• Assist pharmacists in preparing, compounding, and dispensing medications.
• Follow applicable standards and federal, state, and local laws for safety of customers and patients.
• Work under supervision of the supervising pharmacist.

• Licensure: Actively registered, in good standing, with the Missouri Board of Pharmacy as a Pharmacy Technician or willing to submit application for registration by first day of work. This includes submitting fingerprints for FBI background check.
• Experience: 1-year relevant pharmacy experience required; 2 years preferred.
• Certifications: Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) by the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB).

Tech III

• Education: High School Diploma or equivalence exam.
• Licensure: Actively registered, in good standing, with the Missouri Board of Pharmacy as a Pharmacy Technician or willing to submit application for registration by first day of work. This includes submitting fingerprints for FBI background check.
• Experience: 3-year relevant pharmacy experience required
• Certifications: Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) by the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB).
