Job summary

Mercy Hospital South is seeking a Pharmacy Technician III to assist pharmacists in preparing, compounding, and dispensing medications under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist. You will help ensure patient safety and compliance with federal, state, and local regulations in a fast-paced hospital environment.

This full-time position requires Missouri Board of Pharmacy registration or willingness to apply by day one, and experience—1 year preferred for Tech I, 1 year required for Tech II, 3

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalence exam.
• Actively registered, in good standing, with the Missouri Board of Pharmacy as a Pharmacy Technician or willing to submit registration by first day of work, including fingerprints for FBI background check.
• Tech II/Tech III require Missouri Board registration and appropriate experience; Tech II requires 1 year experience (2 years preferred) and PTCB certification; Tech III requires 3 years experience and PTCB certification.
• Complete pharmacy department orientation.

The Pharmacy Technician III follows applicable standards and federal, state & local laws and regulations for the care and safety of the customers and patients served.

Tech I:

• Education: High School Diploma or equivalence exam.
• Licensure: Actively registered, in good standing, with the Missouri Board of Pharmacy as a Pharmacy Technician or willing to submit application for registration by first day of work. This includes submitting fingerprints for FBI background check.
• Experience: 1-year relevant pharmacy experience preferred but not required.
• Other: Successfully complete pharmacy department orientation.

Tech II:

• Education: High School Diploma or equivalence exam.
• Licensure: Actively registered, in good standing, with the Missouri Board of Pharmacy as a Pharmacy Technician or willing to submit application for registration by first day of work. This includes submitting fingerprints for FBI background check.
• Experience: 1-year relevant pharmacy experience required; 2 years preferred.
• Certifications: Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) by the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB).

Tech III:

• Education: High School Diploma or equivalence exam.

• Experience: 3-year relevant pharmacy experience required
