Job summary

BBH Burrell Behavioral Health is seeking a Pharmacy Technician I in Springfield, Missouri. The role supports pharmacists, assists with prescription preparation, and provides excellent customer service in a fast-paced community health setting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Valid pharmacy technician license in good standing or application submitted.
• Background check including criminal, driving, abuse/neglect, and fingerprint.
• Relias training completed at start and annually thereafter.

Responsibilities

• Complete basic and advanced technician training modules to gain essential computer RX knowledge.
• Provide outstanding customer service, ensuring satisfaction with pharmacy services.
• Answer calls and address inquiries that don’t require pharmacist expertise.
• Receive new prescriptions and process refill requests from prescribers.
• Gather and record necessary information to prepare prescriptions efficiently.
• Assist pharmacists in preparing prescriptions by counting, pouring, and labeling medications.
• Maintain a well-stocked pharmacy by ordering and checking-in supplies.
• Prepare insurance claims and confirm payment processing.
• Help patients locate OTC medications.
• Complete housekeeping duties within the pharmacy environment.
• Make deliveries to clients and manage payment transactions when needed.
• Engage in staff development activities to enhance skills and knowledge.
