Job summary

Advocate Aurora Health is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to support preparation and distribution of medications at Carolinas Medical Center Pharmacy. The role involves accurate labeling, stocking, and adherence to safety standards under supervision, with clinical escalation as needed.

The position offers a 7-on/7-off schedule, 40 hours per week, 0700–1900 shifts, and eligibility for a sign-on bonus based on eligibility. Requires high school diploma and future certification within 18 months.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Must obtain Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (CPhT) or ExCPT within 18 months from start date.
• Registration or licensure with state board of pharmacy as required by state of employment.

Responsibilities

• Assist licensed pharmacist with preparation and distribution of medications.
• Prepare, label, and package medications for patients, incl. hazardous drugs and controlled substances.
• Support medication distribution tasks and inventory control.
• Handle phone inquiries and route calls with proper etiquette.
• Record and document medication admission histories and complete required data entry.
• Perform nonsterile compounding and sterile IV admixture per USP standards where applicable.
• Ensure proper storage adherence and daily checks of medication storage areas.
• Assist in training pharmacy technicians and extenders as needed.
• Comply with organizational policies and regulatory standards.
• Support leaders with goals and workload planning.
