Job summary

CareMed Specialty Pharmacy in Louisville, KY, is seeking an Intake Pharmacy Technician to build patient profiles and process orders from electronic prescriptions and faxes. This role supports our expanding specialty pharmacy program.

The ideal candidate has a high school diploma or GED and pharmacy technician licensure as required by state law, with preferred experience in pharmacy settings and specialty pharmacy exposure. Hybrid/remote work after onsite training is offered.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED; licensed/registered pharmacy technician as required by state law.
• Previous experience in Pharmacy settings.
• Certified Pharmacy Technician (PTCB) is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Creates patient profiles and processes orders from electronic prescriptions and faxes.
• Requests refill prescriptions as appropriate.
• Manages incoming documents from the fax server.

Starting Pay: $23.00/hour and up + Quarterly Incentive Bonus
Sign-On Bonus: $5,000 for employees starting before December 31st, 2026.
Schedule: Mondays through Fridays, 8:00 AM-4:30PM EST, 9:00 AM-5:30 PM EST, 11:30AM-8PM EST
Location: Louisville, KY
Work Arrangement: Hybrid / Remote after Onsite Training

• Requests refill prescriptions as appropriate
• Manages incoming documents from the fax server

• Good interpersonal skills
• Excellent verbal, written and customer service skills
• Ability to work independently, meet deadlines and be flexible
• Good organizational skills and detail oriented
• Knowledge of medical terminology (including sig codes and Roman numeral), brand and generic names of medications and general pharmacy terminology
• Ability to perform tasks accurately and efficiently when inputting information
• Licensed/registered pharmacy technician or as required by state law
• Basic math and analytical skills

Education:

• Required:High School Diploma or GED, licensed/registered pharmacy technician or as required by state law, Previous Experience in Pharmacy
• Desired:Certified Pharmacy Technician (PTCB), specialty pharmacy experience

Experience:

• Required: Pharmacy Technician: 1+ years
• Desired: Pharmacy Technician: 3+ years

Skills/Knowledge:

• Required: Pharmacy or healthcare-related knowledge, knowledge of pharmacy terminology including sig codes, and Roman numerals, brand/generic names of medication, basic math and analytical skills, Intermediate typing/keyboarding skills.
• Desired:Specialty pharmacy experience

License or certification:
