Peoples Rx, a locally-owned, holistic compounding pharmacy in Austin, seeks a Part Time Pharmacy Tech or Experienced Trainee for Central ATX location (4018 N. Lamar).
You will work closely with our pharmacists to provide personalized service and accurate prescription processing. The ideal candidate holds an active TSBP Pharmacy Technician or Technician Trainee license, is in the greater Austin area, and brings excellent customer service, data entry skills, and familiarity with pharmacy
Peoples Rx is a locally-owned, holistic compounding pharmacy that has served the Austin community and been a beloved Austin icon for over 40 years. As a Pharmacy Technician, you will work closely with our progressive, world-class pharmacists to provide personalized service to each customer.
The ideal candidate has the ability to process a variety of prescriptions in a fast-paced, retail environment and maintains a positive attitude with fellow team members. Our Pharmacy Technicians work promptly, safely and accurately to fill patient prescriptions all while providing a unique customer experience.
Part-time candidates must be available to work an average of 24 hours per week and have consistent weekday availability during standard business hours. Limited or highly restricted availability may not meet the needs of this role.
Must have active TSBP Pharmacy Technician or Technician Trainee license
Must reside in the greater Austin area (in-person role, variable locations)
Excellent customer service and communication skills
Strong data entry skills with accuracy and efficiency
Familiarity with pharmacy and medical terminology
6 months to 1 year of retail pharmacy experience preferred
Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends
Able to lift up to 30+ lbs and stand for extended periods (typically up to 8 hours)
Process and verify prescription orders (written/electronic)
Accurately input prescription data into pharmacy software
Answer phones and assist patients with questions
Contact providers for prescription clarifications and refill authorizations
Troubleshoot and resolve insurance claim issues
Support pharmacists with packaging and labeling medications
Help maintain inventory and place medication orders when directed
Starting Pay: $17.00 – $21.00/hour (Based on certification level + experience)
