Peoples Rx – Austin's Favorite Pharmacy is seeking a friendly Pharmacy Technician or Experienced Trainee for our Westlake location in Austin, TX. The role supports pharmacists, handles prescriptions, and provides excellent customer service to local patients.

The position offers both Part-Time (24-30 hours) and Full-Time (30-40 hours) schedules with benefits. Ideal candidates have Texas licensure, strong data entry, communication skills, and retail pharmacy experience.

Qualifications

• Active Texas State Board of Pharmacy license or Technician Trainee status.
• Must reside in the greater Austin area for in-person role.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Strong data entry accuracy and attention to detail.
• Familiarity with pharmacy and medical terminology.
• 6 months–1 year of retail pharmacy experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Process and verify prescription orders (written and electronic).
• Input prescription data into pharmacy software accurately.
• Answer phones and assist patients with questions.
• Contact providers for prescription clarifications and refill authorizations.
• Troubleshoot and resolve insurance claim issues.
• Support pharmacists with packaging and labeling medications.
• Help maintain inventory and place medication orders when directed.

As a Pharmacy Technician, you’ll work closely with our progressive, world-class pharmacists to provide personalized care and excellent customer service.

Position Options - We are open to either a Part-Time schedule (24-30 hours per week) or a Full-Time schedule (32-40 hours per week, with benefits), depending on the candidate’s preference and our business needs.

What You’ll Do

• Process and verify prescription orders (written and electronic)
• Accurately input prescription data into pharmacy software
• Answer phones and assist patients with questions

What We’re Looking For

• Active Texas State Board of Pharmacy (TSBP) Technician or Technician Trainee license
• Must reside in the greater Austin area (in-person role)
• Excellent customer service and communication skills
• Strong data entry accuracy, attention to detail and efficiency
• Familiarity with pharmacy and medical terminology
• 6 months-1 year of retail pharmacy experience preferred
• Ability to work a consistent schedule, including alternating Saturdays (10:AM-2:PM)
• Able to lift up to 40 lbs and stand for extended periods (8+ hours)

Starting Pay

• $17.00 - $21.00 per hour (based on certification level and experience)
