Job summary

Peoples Rx in Austin seeks a full-time Pharmacy Technician or experienced trainee to join our holistic, local compounding pharmacy. You will work closely with world-class pharmacists in a fast-paced retail setting to deliver personalized service and accurate prescription fulfillment.

Starting pay ranges from $17.00 to $21.00 per hour, with benefits including health coverage, retirement, PTO and more. In-person role requiring flexibility and reliability.

Qualifications

• Must have active TSBP Pharmacy Technician or Technician Trainee license.
• Reside in the greater Austin area and work in person.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Strong data entry skills with accuracy and efficiency.
• Familiarity with pharmacy and medical terminology.
• 6–12 months of retail pharmacy experience preferred.
• Flexible schedule, including rotating Saturdays; Sundays off.
• Able to lift 30 lbs and stand up to 8 hours.

Responsibilities

• Process and verify prescription orders (written/electronic).
• Input prescription data into pharmacy software.
• Answer phones and assist patients with questions.
• Contact providers for prescription clarifications and refill authorizations.
• Troubleshoot and resolve insurance claim issues.
• Support pharmacists with packaging and labeling medications.
• Help maintain inventory and place medication orders when directed.
