Job summary

Peoples Rx in North Austin is hiring a full-time Pharmacy Technician or experienced trainee to join our locally owned, community-centered pharmacy. You will work closely with our world-class pharmacists to provide personalized service, process prescriptions in a fast-paced retail environment, and ensure accurate data entry and patient assistance.

Candidates must hold an active TSBP Pharmacy Technician or Technician Trainee license and reside in the greater Austin area for in-person work.

Qualifications

• Must have active TSBP Pharmacy Technician or Technician Trainee license.
• Must reside in the greater Austin area and work in-person.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Strong data entry skills with accuracy and efficiency.
• Familiarity with pharmacy and medical terminology.
• 6–12 months of retail pharmacy experience preferred.
• Able to work a flexible schedule including weekends.
• Able to lift 30+ lbs and stand up to 8 hours.

Responsibilities

• Process and verify prescription orders (written/electronic).
• Input prescription data into pharmacy software.
• Answer phones and assist patients with questions.
• Contact providers for prescription clarifications and refill authorizations.
• Troubleshoot and resolve insurance claim issues.
• Support pharmacists with packaging and labeling medications.
• Help maintain inventory and place medication orders when directed.

NOW HIRING: Full Time Pharmacy Tech or Experienced Trainee • North Austin Location!

Peoples Rx is a locally-owned, holistic compounding pharmacy that has served the Austin community and been a beloved Austin icon for over 40 years. As a Pharmacy Technician, you will work closely with our progressive, world-class pharmacists to provide personalized service to each customer.

The ideal candidate has the ability to process a variety of prescriptions in a fast-paced retail environment and maintains a positive attitude with fellow team members. Our Pharmacy Technicians work promptly, safely, and accurately to fill patient prescriptions while providing a unique customer experience.

This is a full-time position, and candidates should be available to work at least 30 hours per week with a consistent and reliable schedule.

Requirements:

• Must have active TSBP Pharmacy Technician or Technician Trainee license
• Must reside in the greater Austin area (in-person role, variable locations)
• Excellent customer service and communication skills
• Strong data entry skills with accuracy and efficiency
• Familiarity with pharmacy and medical terminology
• 6 months to 1 year of retail pharmacy experience preferred
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends
• Able to lift up to 30+ lbs and stand for extended periods (typically up to 8 hours)
