Job summary

peoplesrx in Austin, TX, is seeking a Compound Pharmacy Technician to join our state-of-the-art centralized compounding lab. You’ll work with a collaborative team to produce high-quality pharmaceutical products in a supportive, professional environment.

This in-person role requires active registration with the Texas State Board of Pharmacy, attention to detail, and the ability to stand for long periods. Compensation ranges from $17 to $22 per hour plus benefits for full-time staff.

Qualifications

• Active TX State Board of Pharmacy registration as a Certified Technician or Trainee.
• Excellent attention to detail and accurate data entry.
• Knowledge of pharmacy and medical terminology.
• At least six months of pharmacy technician experience preferred.
• Flexible schedule, including Saturdays.
• Able to lift up to 25+ lbs and stand for 8 hours.

Responsibilities

• Compound medications per SOP and regulatory standards.
• Receive prescriptions or refill requests and verify information.
• Enter and maintain prescription data in the pharmacy software.
• Answer incoming calls and field patient questions.
• Clarify prescription information with doctors or hospitals for refills.
• Resolve prescription insurance claims.
• Assist the pharmacist with packaging medications and labeling.
• Maintain ongoing medication inventory and place orders as instructed.

*This is an in-person role. Candidates must reside in the greater Austin area.*

• Must have active registration with Texas State Board of Pharmacy as a Certified Technician or Trainee (required)

• Efficient data entry skills
• Knowledge of pharmacy and medical terminology
• At least six months pharmacy technician experience preferred
• Flexible schedule, available to work variable shifts including Saturdays
• Able to lift up to 25+lbs
• Able to stand for 8 hours

Compensation and Benefits for Compound Pharmacy Technician:

• $17.00–$22.00/hour (based on certification level and relevant experience)

Responsibilities for Compound Pharmacy Technician:

• Compound medications per SOP and regulatory compliance standards
• Receive written and electronic prescriptions or refill requests and verify that information is complete and accurate
• Enter and maintain prescription data using pharmacy software system
• Answer incoming phone calls and field patient questions
• Contact doctor’s offices or hospitals to clarify prescription information and initiate refill requests
• Resolution of prescription insurance claims
• Assist the pharmacist with packaging medications and affixing proper labels
• Maintain the ongoing medication inventory and place medication orders when instructed
