Job summary

Ascension Sacred Heart Emerald Coast in Miramar Beach, FL, is hiring a Pharmacy Technician for the Pharmacy Services department. The role supports Pharmacists with distributive services, prepares sterile and non-sterile compounds, handles repackaging, and manages inventory to ensure patient care readiness.

The position requires a PTCB or Florida Board licensure, a high school diploma with experience, or an equivalent education path. Hospital experience and sterile compounding are preferred.

Qualifications

• PTCB credential or Florida Board of Pharmacy licensure required prior to hire date.
• High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience or Associate's/Technical degree or 4 years of applicable cumulative job experience.
• At least 1 year hospital experience preferred.
• Sterile compounding experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide distributive pharmacy services and technical support to Pharmacists, including pre-certification support.
• Prepare sterile and non-sterile compounds and repack bulk medications per safety standards.
• Manage departmental inventory and receive/store incoming supplies.
• Triages calls and coordinates with patients and healthcare providers.

How you’ll make an impact in this role

• Provide essential distributive pharmacy services and technical support to Pharmacists (including pre-certification support). This includes the daily maintenance, refilling, and troubleshooting of automated dispensing systems.
• Perform high-accuracy preparation of both sterile and non-sterile compounds, along with the repackaging of bulk medications in strict accordance with safety and regulatory standards.
• Manage departmental inventory by preparing orders and accurately receiving and storing incoming supplies to ensure the pharmacy is always prepared for patient needs.
• Act as a professional liaison between the pharmacy, patients, and healthcare providers. You will triage incoming calls and provide the necessary information to ensure seamless coordination across the hospital.

What Minimum Requirements You’ll Need

Licensure / Certification / Registration

• One or more of the following required:
• Pharmacy Tech credentialed from the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
• Registered Pharmacy Tech credentialed from the Florida Board of Pharmacy obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.

Education

High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience. OR Associate's degree/Technical degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required. Required professional licensure/certification can be used in lieu of education or experience, if applicable.

Additional Preferences

• At least 1 year hospital experience
• Sterile compounding experience highly
