Job summary

Summa Health System is seeking a Pharmacy Technician for the Akron City campus on the 2nd shift. The role involves filling medication orders, maintaining records, and preparing IV solutions under aseptic technique; technicians handle controlled substances and stock patient care areas.

Hire on incentive of $5,000 is available. The candidate must have a high school diploma, National Certification within 1 year, and Ohio licensure to work; training will be provided for independent responsibilities

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• National Pharmacy Technician Certification within 1 year from date of hire.
• Licensed as a registered pharmacy technician or pharmacy technician trainee by the Ohio State Board of Pharmacy at the time of hire.
• License required before working independently.

Responsibilities

• Fill medication orders and maintain manual and computer records.
• Prepare intravenous solutions using aseptic technique and handle controlled substances.
• Maintain inventory in the pharmacy storeroom and work areas.
• Supply medications and stock to patient care areas and charge items appropriately.
