Job summary

Summa Health is seeking a Pharmacy Technician for the Akron City campus on a full-time, 2nd shift union position. The role supports filling medication orders, maintains records, and prepares IV solutions using aseptic technique; participates in stocking and charging for items supplied.

Qualified candidates will have a high school diploma, Ohio licensure as a pharmacy technician (or trainee), and National Certification within 1 year of hire.

Qualifications

• National Pharmacy Technician Certification within 1 year from date of hire.
• Licensed as a registered pharmacy technician by the Ohio State Board of Pharmacy at the time of hire.
• Licensed as a certified pharmacy technician by the Ohio State Board of Pharmacy once National Certification is obtained.
• Employee may not start working independently until issuance of license.

Responsibilities

• Fills medication orders and maintains record systems.
• Prepares intravenous solutions using aseptic techniques and handles controlled substances.
• Maintains inventory in the pharmacy storeroom and supplies medications to patient care areas.
• Charges for items supplied and ensures accurate documentation.
