Job summary

Summa Health Akron City campus is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to perform medication order fulfillment, IV preparation, and inventory management under pharmacist supervision. You will stock to patient care areas and ensure accurate charging for items supplied, while adhering to safety and regulatory standards.

The role requires National Pharmacy Technician Certification within 1 year of hire and licensure as a pharmacy technician with the Ohio State Board of Pharmacy at hire, with independence

Qualifications

National Pharmacy Technician Certification within 1 year from date of hire.
Licensed as a registered pharmacy technician by the Ohio State Board of Pharmacy at time of hire
Licensed as a certified pharmacy technician by the Ohio State Board of Pharmacy once National Certification is obtained.
Employee may not start working independently until issuance of license.

Responsibilities

Fill medication orders and maintain manual and computer records.
Prepare intravenous solutions using aseptic technique and supply controlled substances.
Maintain inventories in the pharmacy storeroom and work areas; stock to patient care areas.
Appropriately charge for items supplied to patient care areas.

Summary

Performs tasks related to the filling of medication orders, maintains both manual and computer based records. Prepares intravenous solutions using proper aseptic techniques, supplies controlled substances. Maintains accurate records of disposition, maintains inventories in the pharmacy storeroom and work areas. Supplies medications and stock to patient care areas and appropriately charges for items supplied.

Formal Education Required

High school diploma or equivalent

Experience And Training Required

National Pharmacy Technician Certification within 1 (one) year from date of hire.
Licensed as a registered pharmacy technician or pharmacy technician trainee by the Ohio State Board of Pharmacy at the time of hire
Licensed as a certified pharmacy technician by the Ohio State Board of Pharmacy once National Pharmacy Certification is obtained.
Employee may not start working independently until issuance of license.
