Job summary

Olympic Medical Center on Washington State’s North Olympic Peninsula is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to join our hospital pharmacy team. The role involves receiving and filling prescriptions, preparing meds and IVs, and handling stock control in a fast paced clinical environment.

Applicants must graduate from a WA Board program, be licensed as a Pharmacy Technician in Washington, and ideally hold national CPhT certification. Hospital systems experience is preferred and on-site work is required.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a Washington State Board of Pharmacy approved Pharmacy Technician training Program.
• Certification as a Pharmacy Technician in Washington State required. National certification as a Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) preferred.
• Experience with hospital drug distribution systems and hospital computer systems preferred.

Responsibilities

• Receives and fills prescription requests from physicians and other qualified prescribers.
• Prepares/ compounds medications, IVs and other pharmaceutical supplies based on OMC procedures.
• Performs computer order entry/billing. Delivers supplies.
• Maintains records. Assists with training new staff.
• Performs drug stock control and other related duties.

• Per Diem - 15% (on base, in lieu of benefits)
• Certification - $2.00/hour
• Trainer - $2.00/hour
• Student Coord - $2.00/hour, 2+ = $3.25/hour
