Job summary

Olympic Medical Center on the North Olympic Peninsula in Port Angeles, WA is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to receive and fill prescription requests, prepare medications and compound IVs per OMC procedures. Strong knowledge of hospital computer systems and medication distribution is preferred.

Washington State Pharmacy Technician certification is required, with national CPhT preferred. The role involves various duties including stock control and staff training, with shift premiums and weekend

Qualifications

• Graduate of a Washington State Board of Pharmacy approved Pharmacy Technician training Program.
• Experience with hospital drug distribution systems, hospital computer systems, IV compounding systems and other hospital related systems preferred.
• Certification as a Pharmacy Technician in Washington State required. National certification as a Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) preferred.

• Receives and fills prescription requests from physicians and other qualified prescribers.
• Prepares/ compounds medications, IVs and other pharmaceutical supplies based on OMC protocols/procedures.
• Performs computer order entry/billing. Delivers supplies. Prepackages medications. Maintains records.
• Assists with training new staff. Performs drug stock control and other various other related duties.

• Per Diem - 15% (on base, in lieu of benefits)
• Certification - $2.00/hour
• Trainer - $2.00/hour
• Student Coord - $2.00/hour, 2+ = $3.25/hour
