Job description

Why FMH

Every day, someone receives a life-changing diagnosis. Getting the right medication should be straightforward - but too often it isn't.

Specialty medications move through a complex network of providers, health plans, pharmacies, and manufacturers. Administrative delays, disconnected systems, and limited visibility can slow treatment when time matters most.

Free Market Health exists to make that process work better.

Our technology connects stakeholders across the specialty pharmacy ecosystem, helping prescriptions reach the right pharmacy while improving visibility, reducing friction, and keeping treatment moving forward for the patients who depend on them. We focus on the most important stakeholder of all: the patient.

Y our impact

Free Market Health is looking for an energetic, detail-oriented Pharmacy Technician to join our non-dispensing pharmacy team in Pittsburgh. In this role, you will help move specialty prescriptions through the approval and fulfillment journey by reviewing prescription information, coordinating with providers and pharmacy partners, supporting benefit investigations and prior authorizations, and resolving issues that could delay patient care.

You will work alongside pharmacists, providers, payers, specialty pharmacies, and internal teams in a dynamic, technology-enabled environment where accuracy, follow-through, and thoughtful problem-solving matter. This role requires a Monday-Friday onsite schedule located at our Pittsburgh Headquarters.

What You’ll Do

  • Review incoming prescriptions for accuracy, completeness, and fulfillment readiness.

  • Work with medical providers to clarify information and resolve prescription issues.

  • Coordinate prescription activity across our non-dispensing pharmacy and specialty pharmacy network.

  • Investigate pharmacy benefit coverage and follow payer requirements through completion.

  • Gather benefit and utilization-management criteria to support prior authorization approvals.

  • Connect provider- and prescription-support issues with the right internal teams and follow through to resolution.

  • Prepare information pharmacists need to transfer prescription files between pharmacies.

  • Identify opportunities to improve quality, efficiency, and the patient experience.

What We’re Looking For

  • Active Pharmacy Technician license in Pennsylvania.

  • At least two years of pharmacy experience; specialty pharmacy experience is a plus.

  • Knowledge of drug nomenclature, medical terminology, dosing concepts, and patient-care practices.

  • Strong attention to detail, accurate data-entry skills, and the ability to organize and prioritize work.

  • Clear, professional written and verbal communication and a service-oriented approach.

  • Confidence learning new technology and working through complex issues to resolution.

Nice to Haves

  • College degree preferred.
