Job Description:

COMPENSATION: Hourly rate $14 - $18.50 depending on experience.

This role involves assisting licensed pharmacists by providing medication and healthcare products to patients with accuracy and efficiency. Responsibilities include preparing prescribed medication, counting tablets, labeling bottles, stocking products, providing customer service, using computer systems for patient profiles and insurance claims, and processing transactions to support store financial goals. All other duties as assigned should be completed promptly.

Here’s what you’ll do:

  • Stock and inventory medications (prescription and OTC).
  • Notify Pharmacy Manager of supplies needed.
  • Receive prescriptions/refills from patients.
  • Retrieve, count, pour, weigh, package, and label products.
  • Maintain customer profiles and insurance forms.
  • Operate cash register accurately, display costs, make change, cash checks, and issue receipts.
  • Be familiar with all products in the department.
  • Maintain a clean, attractive, and well-stocked department.
  • Follow HIPAA and all legal policies and procedures.
  • Perform tasks delegated by the pharmacist, excluding final verification and patient counseling.
  • Additional responsibilities as needed.

Here’s what you’ll need:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • One (1) year of customer service-oriented pharmacy experience preferred, with valid state registration or certification.
  • Ability to read, write, comprehend, and interpret documents.
  • Basic mathematical skills.
  • Knowledge of products and suggestive selling skills.
  • Attention to detail.

Physical Requirements:

The physical demands include lifting/moving up to 30 pounds frequently and up to 50 pounds occasionally. Standing, walking, bending, stooping, twisting, and turning are required. The work environment is typical of retail stores, with varied temperatures and exposure to outside weather. Noise levels are usually low to moderate. Travel requirements vary.
